What to Expect at HtC 6.0

HtC 6.0

On May 10-11, 2023, ICS Village is proud to present Hack the Capitol 6.0! This is the sixth installment of our free, two-day-long, multi-track event designed to educate congressional staffers, scholars, and the press on some of the most critical cybersecurity challenges facing our nation today. Hosted at MITRE, Hack the Capitol is a hybrid conference with a live-stream option for those unable to attend in-person. Watch the ICS Village website for announcements about the agenda, racks, presentations, speakers, hands-on labs, and sponsors.

Hack the Capitol 6.0 will deliver programming along four tracks:

Track I – Policy Panels and Presentations: Typically the conference’s most popular track, this includes policy, strategy, and governance focused panels and presentations, including keynotes and fireside chats by leading government officials. These are designed for a general audience, and are mostly conducted in-person.

Track II – The Boardroom: A series of half-hour individual sessions, each of which will dive deep into leading issues in ICS security. They will alternate between sessions focused on the corporate, legal or regulatory environment, and sessions focused on specific technical or operational details. These are designed for a slightly more experienced audience, and may be virtual or in-person.

Track III – Technical Talks: Also known as the Beer-ISAC – A series of half-hour individual sessions, each of which will dive deep into leading issues in ICS security. These are designed for a more advanced technical audience and are in-person only.

Track IV – The Exhibition Hall: An open room dedicated to vendors, villages, and government agencies who will host hands-on demonstrations, short talks, and seminars for attendees. These will vary between activities designed for a general audience and those for more advanced attendees.

Hack the Capitol 4.0 (2021), a virtual conference, was attended by nearly 800 people from around the world.  Hack the Capitol 5.0 (2022), a hybrid conference, featured pre-recorded and live keynotes by Congressional leaders and officials from the Office of the National Cyber Director, Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, Transportation Security Administration, and more.
